Today kicks off the Global Read Aloud for 2015! WOMS Book Club is reading Fish by L. S. Matthews. Our students have been given the opportunity to write the first set of questions for all the classes around the world! Our students will be sharing ideas about the book with students from:
Copperas Cove, Texas
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Boras, Sweden
Manitoba, Canada
Ripon, Wisconsin
The students did an amazing job, and are looking forward to seeing all the responses.
Isn’t it amazing that WOMS students can collaborate with students from 2 continents: Europe and South America plus 2 US states separated by many miles. In fact, Ripon, Wisconsin is over 1000 miles from White Oak, and it would take over 16 hours to drive there. On the other hand Copperas Cove, Tx is only a little over 4 hours by car from WOMS. I wonder how long it would take to get to Manitoba Canada, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Boras, Sweden? Could you get to all of them by car?
The questions you wrote are perfect to help your new global friends understand the story. I know you are eager to get their answers and to answer their questions. Enjoy your collaboration.
