Book Club celebrated Groundhog Day with a digital breakout. Based on the children’s book, Runaway Shadow by David Biedrzycki,Tonya Coffey created a digital breakout for students of any age. 

The Roughneck Book Club had a wonderful time helping Groundhog find his shadow in time for Groundhog’s Day! Put your skills to the test with the Runaway Shadow Digital Breakout.

Scott Floyd, Chief Technology Officer at WOISD, was the special guest at our teacher lunch and learn today. He shared all the bells and whistles that accompany our new Epson iProjectors.  Our teachers and students will have the opportunity to share their screens wirelessly on the projector system. The Epson iProjection system works with Chromebooks, iOS, and Android devices.  

Book Club had a blast celebrating the season with Christmas music pictionary! We are grateful to have the opportunity to come together each week and share our ideas, creativity, and books. Check out all our fun in the video below.

The Roughneck Book Club recently read Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. The students loved the baby’s adventures. Shortly after the reading, our book club realized our Gingerbread Baby was missing! We put out a plea on social media asking for help.

The response was overwhelming! There were so many kind people who sent us postcards and messages via Facebook and Twitter.

We tracked our Gingerbread Baby’s sightings on Google Earth. Please check out the link above to see all the cities, states, and countries our Gingerbread Baby has visited. We hope to find him before we leave for Christmas!
